Looking for a colorful craft that screams summer? Make a colorful pinwheel and watch it spin as the summer breezes blow.

Materials
Paper
Scissors
Tacks or pins
A pencil or marker
A straw
A ruler
Instructions
Cut your paper into a square. A 4-inch-by-4-inch or 5-inch-by-5-inch square works best. Use a ruler to measure if you need to!
After you cut your square, draw a dot right in the center. This will help line up the rest of the pinwheel.
Next, lightly draw some dotted lines from the corners to the dot in the center. Number every other corner.

Cut along each dotted line to just before the dot in the center. Be careful not to cut all the way across the paper!
Fold in each numbered corner, starting with 1, then 2, etc. Helpful hint: It is sometimes easier to push the pin through the corner as you go.
When you are holding all the corners together, stick your tack or pin through the center.

Take the pin and stick it through a straw. If you don’t have a paper straw, push the pin through the eraser of a pencil. You might have to adjust how far you stick the pin.
Now blow the wheels like a birthday candle or bring it outside and enjoy watching the spinning colors in the summer breeze.
