Red foxes are very adaptable and can live in many different habitats and environments, including rural, suburban and urban areas. They are omnivores, eating what is readily available to them. They are mostly active at night, but it's not unusual to see them in the morning or evening. Red foxes spend much of their time living alone, but they will live together as a family group when their babies, called kits, are born in the spring. The kits will stay with their parents until fall, when they strike out on their own.
