Build Your Own Salamander Home

Updated: Feb 15, 2019

Salamanders live in forests under logs and leaves. They like to eat worms, beetles, slugs and any other critter that lives underground.

“The Salamander Room” is a great book to read before this craft.

Create your own salamander home following these steps!

Materials:

  • Toilet paper tube

  • Popsicle stick

  • Salamander printout (or draw your own)

  • Glue or tape.

  • Optional: Markers, crayons, stickers, leaves and/or sticks

What to do:

  1. Print off the salamander and color it in. Don’t have a printer? Just draw your own!

  2. Glue or tape the salamander to the popsicle stick.

  3. Create a salamander home using the toilet paper tube as your log. Add leaves and sticks to the toilet paper tube. Draw in insects for the salamander to eat. Stickers can be used to cover the log too.
